World PhotoBook Day at the Centre for Contemporary Photography in Melbourne

This is the announcement of Asia-Pacific Photobook Archive on their instagram account:

Asia-Pacific Photobook Archive, PhotoBook Melbourne and Centre for Contemporary Photography are joining forces in Melbourne to organize this activity.

Let’s remember with these three pictures what APPA organized and how they spent this day a year ago:

Katrin Koenning's selection for our World Photobook Day event yesterday was – 'Will They Sing Like Raindrops or Leave Me Thirsty' (2014). Self published by Max Pinckers. Katrin spoke eloquently about how this book uses a unique visual language and reframes approaches to documentary photography. She spoke of its use of complex and rich narratives whilst still being grounded in social, political & religious commentary. Book details: Softcover with flaps 210 x 290 mm 232 pages 140 color photographs Full colour offset Edition of 1000 ISBN 9789081971515 Design by Jurgen Maelfeyt www.jurgenmaelfeyt.be Text by Hans Theys, 'Photographs as Poems', Montagne de Miel, February 2014 www.hanstheys.be Printed by Die Keure, Bruges
