On this date, in 1843, the British Library catalogued the first known Photobook, “Photographs of British algae. Cyanotype impressions”, by Anna Atkins.
The catalogue description reads: “The first photographically illustrated book; this collection of cyanotypes is one of the most important milestones in the development and history of photography.”
