World Photobook Day 2014 @ Foto Frenzy

Foto Frenzy celebrates World PhotoBook Day with a collective pop up library. They say on facebook event:

Pull up a beanbag… pop on a white glove… Grab a cuppa… and chill out in our temporary photobook library!

Bring along your favourite PhotoBooks and PhotoZines to share during the day if you wish.

On this date, in 1843, the British Library catalogued the first known Photobook, “Photographs of British algae. Cyanotype impressions”, by Anna Atkins.

The catalogue description reads: “The first photographically illustrated book; this collection of cyanotypes is one of the most important milestones in the development and history of photography.”
